The Book Of Life Poem by Maria Shaw

The Book Of Life

Silent tears are shed
echoed through the mountains
carried by the breeze
as man falls to his knees.

Vultures take flight
as innocents die
easy prey
as their last prayer is silenced.

Land and oil
taken with force
as walls are built
and voices ignored.

The world looks on oblivious
their only concern
their own shallow lives
hypnotized by rich man's lies.

They forgot the ten commandments
thy shalt not kill
thy shalt not lie
thy shalt not worship anyone but I.
