The Book Of Life Poem by Dave Dunn

The Book Of Life

The Book Of Life

So many pages in the book of life
Tell tales about the trouble and strife
The joys and the aching we may endure
How much of each we can't be sure

For there are gaps within the tales
How much traction have you on the rails
Are the sleepers loose or rotting away
One cold wind may blow your plans astray

If only the book was made to be clear
Like those we read to our children dear
Pictures and soundboards help for sure
To keep their tales simple and pure

So please whoever is designing the next
Book of life to come off the press
Can we ask just one more simple thing
Some variables that we can find within

All it would take to make us feel secure
Would be flaps to reveal the future for sure
By lifting these flaps the choice would be made
After which we would never more be afraid.
