The Black Ring Poem by Noah Body

The Black Ring

The black ring is there before you
It has come to torment, you to devour
It has come before you to punish you
It is there because this is the witching hour

It's walls feel like velvet stretched out forever
It sings a song, you can't help but hear it's call
On it's edge you twist and teeter
You dare not listen lest you fall

It's siren song pulls you forward
Sets your heart to beating like a drum
Panic sets in and makes you scream
You don't know where it's come from

A slippery slope leads to it's edge
You slip and slide, try to draw back
It shines like plastic, stretches like rubber
It is the color of the darkest black

As down the slope you begin to slip
Panic sets in and you just can't hide
From the pull of those walls oh so black
The fear in you you just can't abide

You slip some more to the edge
Then into it's maw you are falling
It's pull is panic, it's draw is death
And into it's depths you are falling
