The Black Bullet Poem by Rody Cesar

The Black Bullet

This is when things go wrong
Something you can't explain but to want to go away
It follows you around to make sure it doesn't work
Then you ask yourself, 'why me? ! '
Trying to move on even though its breaking you down inside
You see this 'black bullet' is the root all evil
It hits when you lose a job
When you lose a loved one
When you lose money
When you end a loving relationship
When you start losing your faith
This 'black bullet' will have start questioning certain things
Like is this all worth it?
Like why can't it leave me alone?
How can I stop this from hitting?
Is this how my life is suppose be?
Even though this sounds horrible, there is hope
And that hope is to carry one
You see this 'black bullet' is not indestructible'
As a matter a fact, it can't stop hitting you once and for all
It all depends on the certain individual it targets
If they let it sink in their core
Or to pull it out and prevail
Life is a hard test, yes indeed!
But once you pass this test, the bullets will cease fire
So in the end, don't let this 'black bullet' dictate your happiness
Your true protection from it ain't armor, a bulletproof vest, or a helmet.
It 's the belief that runs through your heart
