The Bitter Sweet Taste Poem by Brian Kilpatrick

The Bitter Sweet Taste

The bitter sweet taste
From this bite of life
Lingers on my palette
My brush dips cautiously
Into my bitter sweet bites
I paint you a picture cautiously
Using the dark and the light

The bitter sweet taste
From this bite of life
I try to clear from my palette
But no amount of sharing
Can clear my plate tonight
Cautiously I share with you
Hoping to get a bite
