The Birthday Of My First Best Friend Poem by Pride Young

The Birthday Of My First Best Friend

Rating: 5.0

Ah! It’s the birthday of my First Best Friend,
And I must wish him,
But I find my words at a trim,
I wish that our friendship knows no end.

We were neighbours once,
but for us the walls never existed,
And our families coexisted,
In you I found a brother,
And motherly love from your mother,
To you and your family I will always remain indebted,
And I wish for a world where our families forever coexisted,
But alas! Life goes on my friend,
And I hope our friendship knows no end.

We shared not just our toys n ploys, plays n ways,
But, memories of those lovely childhood days,
Those moments would stay with me forever,
I was blessed to have a friend so loving and clever,
I feel, I am now drifting out of trend,
I wish our friendship knows no end.

A big hug to you and a salute to your mother,
That’s all I’d say for today my brother,
But there’s more to say,
And even more that can’t be said,
I believe true love and emotions can only be read,
With this, I wish you all the luck my friend,
I wish our friendship knows no end…

A lovely tribute to a friend indeed on his birthday, well articulated and nicely penned with lovely rhyme scheme. A friend indeed is almost the equal of a good and happy family. A nice poem indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON
