The Bird Got Run Over Poem by Herbert Nehrlich

The Bird Got Run Over

The mechanic was sad, and depressed
he went straight to his priest and confessed,
so the priest said 'tis fine
I will open some wine
you go hurry, I want this bird dressed.

Chestnut stuffing, a touch of sweet thyme
cut some slices of lemon and lime
we shall dine like the kings
(I shall give you the wings)
for dessert we shall make a new rhyme.
