The Big Push Poem by Robert Melliard

The Big Push

I decided to put all my poems on Facebook and Twitter.

The result was startling.

In twenty-four hours, the number of hits
was ten times greater than before.

I suddenly felt I was getting somewhere.

I received more comments too,
all positive, and began to dream
I had finally made it.

Today, however, I have had only two hits
so I seem to have sunk back down
into the anonymity I leaped out of for a while.

So I have resolved to write another hundred poems
and stick them all on Facebook and Twitter again,
just to get another little kick and feel
slightly, briefly famous one more time.

At least I now have an extra reason to write.

Lol. I find this so interesting because it brings me back to when I first started posting poems on PH and I remember thinking to myself, oh, I wonder if anybody will even comment. And then worrying that maybe I should delete them in case they did comment and all of them were unfavorable! Lol. Of course, since then I've realized that even constructive critism is meant well! So I too, like you, was so pleasantly surprised when I started receiving such wonderful and positive comments! Got that same feeling of Wow! I do have some worth and value as a writer! If it will help to make your day brighter, I enjoy your reading your poetry postings!
