The Best World Ever/Living In A Dream Poem by Melinda Sordini

The Best World Ever/Living In A Dream

There's a little rocking chair
And a child's laughter
Guess they're living
Forever after
There's a vision
Of the fire
That they died in
Guess this world
Isn't so bad after all
This little girl
With so many things
Is dragged by her hair
Away from her room
But she really wanted to stay
What such nice things you'd see
The world isn't such a nightmare
After all
In the room
There's a doll
With evil little eyes
And she has the most beautiful
Bow ties
That the little girl gave her
After being sent to her room
The pretty doll is haunted
But she can't really tell
How lucky the little girl is
Her parents treat her so well
There's plenty of good stuff
In this old haunted house
Besides its many flaws
But nothing could
Really happen, right?
A little boy
In the bathroom adjacent
Has just dropped his icecream
Into the toilet
But it tastes so much better
How well the flavors blend
With toilet water added in the mix
The girl and boy
Are so blind
To how horrible
It really is
Let's just hope
They're okay
With the danger
That awaits them
And by the way,
Last night
The little doll
Waved at me, Mom,
It's such a nice doll
The eyes even turn red
Sometimes
You should've been there
