The Best Days Poem by Joseph T. Renaldi

The Best Days

We appreciate the days
with a bright green collar
and night when the moon
is bright as a silver dollar,
and the hills are adorned
with a succulent stuffing,
and we gasp audibly
like a steam engine puffing.

We appreciatre the days
when flowers are growing
and all the floral species
have colorful petals showing.
The air is warm and soothing,
and the song birds are singing,
and we are overwhelmed with excitement
with summer coming.

After the torment that was this past winter, here, in New York....indeed the summer will be greeted with an overwhelming appreciation. I swear I won't complain when the heat waves inevitably hit....at least that's what I tell myself now. Thanks for the reminder! PEACE
