The Beauty Of The Stars Poem by Justin Mabulana

The Beauty Of The Stars

Rating: 4.0

It’s the beauty of the stars that amazes me
As I gaze in amazement it hits me
That if you look close enough you can see the future
So as I focus my natural lenses all I see is you
Somehow you imprinted in the mirrors of my thoughts I see you in my dreams at times
So go ahead and ask me what the hell I be thinking about when I aint thinking about you
It’s the beauty of the stars that amazes me
The but question is are they beautiful in their own essence or their beauty is what you make of it
Because I see the same beauty in you
The beauty that neither you nor anybody else sees only I do
And sometimes I be wondering what change means
Because I have been feeling the same ever since I laid eyes upon the sky
You see the stars never disappoint me
They always make sure they are there at the night time when I need them to be
You see, they light up the atmosphere but its my heart glows
It’s like they nurture this feeling am feeling and it grows
Like an infant
But I hate to have to play that fatherly role

My generosity extends beyond imaginable possibilities
I rearrange the alphabets and put U before I
You see, I see you in ways you secretly wish for
Recognition, I recognize the beauty that lies beneath surfaces not visible to a naked eye
I feast on your need to be known”
The fact is the drug I take is no longer effective
And as it wears off like weary waves off shore
When it all settles
And loneliness creeps in from the shadows
Because even during the good times I could feel him
Feasting on the possibility of this melancholy
Slowly approaching like a predator waiting for a moment to spawn
When the stars remain as beautiful as before
But i have some how forgotten to remember to look upon the skies
And at the time i remember to wouldn't even remember what am looking up for
