The Beautiful Lies Poem by Nidhi Jha

The Beautiful Lies

Those were the beautiful lies,
When you promised to walk with me forever,
When you wished we would die together,
When you promised not to let me cry,
When you promised you would never lie.

Those were the beautiful lies,
When you told me you won't hurt me,
When you said you would always protect me,
When you prayed first for me and then for my life,
When you lived for me and said after me you would die.

Those were the beautiful lies,
When holding my hand you said you would live for me,
When wiping my tears you tried to hide yours,
When my fall hurt you the most,
When my loss meant something you lost.

I believe in them still,
I know you won't return- no you will.
No regrets, no tears in my eyes,
Cause those were really the most beautiful lies...

Nidhi how lovely in its seriousness and depth. So simple, words; ...to mean nothing to the one speaking and still they cause so much pain. Beautiful Nidhi:
