The Beast Within Poem by Connor Whyte

The Beast Within

Rating: 3.5

I feel I am stuck in a cage every now and then someone pokes me stirring up more rage being hurt and can't escape, Once I feel happy things don't stay, You didn't do this, You didn't do that, Grow up, I'm smarter than you, Do as I say, Shut your mouth or you will pay everything I do has to be my way. I close my eyes and look into the darkness tuning out the sound, But I see the cage someone bangs on the bars stirring up more rage the beast tries to fight back so he can be in peace, But can't seem to get out and stop what is happening, He falls down hurt and motionless. My eyes open and I give a sigh listening to the guy who gets in my face. I feel like the beast who can't get free, He wins he proves me wrong, Laughs in my face. I close my eyes stare into nothing I see the beast fall down shedding A tear before he is deceased.
