The Beach Poem by Phil Soar

The Beach

The sound of waves crashing forcefully on sandy floors
Casting debris far and wide along the shore
Leaving footprints,
Only to be washed away with the arrival of a new wave
Sweeping all before it
Some back out to sea
Some further inland
To rest until higher tides
Or to lay forever as flotsam and jetsam
Debris from vessels
Tossed aside without thought
Scarring the beauty of the beach
Like the ocean has been sick
And still the waves cast all aside
Crashing angrily
Perhaps a warning
Heeded by only those who care
Enough to speak out
Enough to help change
Before it's too late
And the oceans give in
Too late for all of us
The sound of waves crashing forcefully on floors of sand
