The Battle Poem by Patricia Gale

The Battle

Rating: 5.0

A daily struggle they fight
Not knowing how or why
Tying to overcome the loneliness of the night
Nor understanding why they should even try

Some fall by the wayside
A few struggle to see the light
Countless, endless crystal tears cried
Only seeing black and white

My wish, perhaps my desire
Would be an open embrace, a chance to give all new sight
For to place upon them an ecclesiastical attire
And walk their hearts through they’re true inner light

To open up the deep seeded soul
Remove the shackles that blind their hearts
Yes, perhaps that would be my goal
To make the shadows of depression depart
