The Banquet Of Consequences Poem by John F. McCullagh

The Banquet Of Consequences

For years we've consumed
far more than we grow-
preferring to reap
what we disdained to sow.
Our savings outstriped
by the sums that we owe.
Sooner or later
we ride to our fall
the banquet of consequences
awaits for us all.
