The Ball Poem by Vera Sidhwa

The Ball

I jumped over the ball.
Then the ball went rolling away,
Even though I told him to stay.
It just rolled and rolled astray.

I was even more ambitious,
To use the ball in another way.
I chose the cricket game,
It's ball being hit by a bat.

It didn't matter now.
I knew so many sports.
I knew the efficacy of using all kinds of balls.
I was entrenched in the fun.
