The Bag Lady Poem by D. S. Jones

The Bag Lady

He calls me a bag lady- I have so many kinds
that lines the shelves, drawers and such,
and all of them are mine!
My lingerie uses one for wash day once a week
Another for my needles when knitting I go to seek.
A bag to keep my make-up in
and one for all that stuff
like hair dryers and curling irons and
setting jell a must!
Then, all of those for groceries requires handles strong
And gift bags, with little tags,
a must in short and long.
Tote bags, school bags, the list goes on and on
Laundry bags, yard waste bags, did you begin to yawn?
One behind the table is holding sewing stuff
I go into the garden where another is a must
For spades, markers, gloves and twine need a place to be
My garden bag is heavy as surly you can see.
But favorite of all my bags, I find this one to me
It requires a china cup,
for it hold my tea.
