The Awakening Poem by Arnie Hicks

The Awakening

as soft as the scent of lavender,
her lips brushed mine;
an impromptu moment of unguarded intimacy,
and there awakened within a chorus of angels...
my heart had found its song.

that what i had thought but mystery and myth -
unmasked in the luminous depth of her dark eyes -
gave birth a new star to heighten heaven's light;
for love had taken wing and come to life...
my soul had found its mate.
