The Answer Poem by Manav Darjee

The Answer

Day or night, dawn or twilight, my eyes always keep you in sight
In all the faces that I behold every day, yours is the one that tends to stay
As if my mind has been fixated, and my soul has been sweetly sedated
This is a feeling I deeply enjoy, truth is I want no other way

You however are a naughty one, you do not stop at that hon
Last night when the lights were dim, you walked into my dream
Complained and thrashed me some, you no more wanted a cheap poem
You wanted flowers, gold and silver, diamonds and all the pirates' treasure

I was surprised, I was confused, such needs of a beauty astound
I whispered with soft temperament, my darling you are god's ornament
Your hair is like flowing gold, you were created in Venus's mould
Your face is like a lotus in heaven's pond, and no diamond can match our bond
