The Angels Poem by Edwina Reizer

The Angels

Are there angels in the clouds up high
lookin' down on me?
Can they see a soul that's lost down here
and do they hold the key
to take away my worries, take away my pain
and shower me with sunshine, take away the rain?

I can't pray to angels in the clouds up high.
They're just too far away.
There are too many souls lost down here
and all they do is pray.
The angels are too busy singing an angelic song.
Our problems here are endlessly much too long.

And so my mind hesitates
and maybe that is wrong
but all the music that I love
is like an angelic song.

And maybe they will hear it
and an exception will be made.
They'll gather me up with filmy wings
and my worries all will fade.
And I will survive the silence
that loving you has made.

I will survive the parting
and what it's done to me.
For the angels will decide my case
and help me to be free.
