The Aged Earth Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

The Aged Earth

How old is the Earth?
The answer can make stop to breath
Whoever came up with such a figure?
Must have been there during the fixture
13 billions of years ago is near unimaginable
For many people, this is untenable
But my mentors and senior colleagues said so in many scopes
They concluded from carbon-dating and verified with powerful telescopes
The Big Bang Theory troubled our understanding
Because we do not know where the creator was actually standing
If the Earth is that old
What story could we had been told
That is just simply outrageous
Where is it written, we are not courageous
Perhaps, we need to agree
Since it is movie, we pay no fee
That means it is older than my great, great, great, great, great grand father
Do not even think of it, it was there before the mother
It was there, anyway, before we all came here
And it will still be, so just leave it there
