The Advisers Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

The Advisers

I was told too,
Time would be the healer.
The pain will go away,
Laughter will fill your heart again,
They promised!
But what do they know
And who are they any way?
I still weep myself to sleep!
What do they know, and
Who are they any way?

(Written for a girl named 'Winter')
