The Adventures Of Katy, The Shee, Katy Meets A Fat Fairy, Part Ii, Con'T. Poem by Mary Naylor

The Adventures Of Katy, The Shee, Katy Meets A Fat Fairy, Part Ii, Con'T.

And landed on his nose. His eyes crossed in surprise.

He sat down hard, just as the guard said, 'All Rise! '

While the warden's arms still flailed, as if to fly.

Hiccupping with laughter, the children

Scampered to their beds, their spirits on the mend.

Willow whispered to Katy, 'Somehow I'm

Going to bring Christmas to them. He was so unkind! '

She gathered her fairy friends and planned

In the dusty yard full of weeds and old cans.

The children awoke to fairy lights

And rushed to the windows to see the sights.

The lights became a living Christmas tree

Made of butterflies, then, spelled out for all to see,

MERRY CHRISTMAS! FELIZ NAVIDAD!

Making a wonderland in the dusty sod.

Suddenly, even the fairies were shocked

As the sound of silvery bells floated into the block!

And a white-bearded man dressed in a red suit

Stepped out of his sleigh in his shiny black boots!

His elves flew through the barbed wire with games to play,

Then he blew them a kiss, and he went on his way.

Katy whispered 'Who was he? No one knows for sure.'

Willow whispered, 'Well, it wasn't the volunteer firemen on tour! '

Willow caught sight of herself in a window,

And gasped, 'I'm not fat! Maybe all that flying to and fro...

Katy, Kathleen, look, look, take a peek! '

'We see Willow! Oh Willow, TRES CHIC! '
