That Sweet Serenade Poem by Teal Eyed Dreamer

That Sweet Serenade

Rating: 4.5

The bronze embers have burnt,
The winds have blown past,
Sweeping the world clean,
Off dirt, tears and dreams,
That sweet serenade still whistles past,
Endlessly travelling, seldom heard,
The night so silent, the twinkle of stars,
from galaxies beyond ring clear.

Night and day pasts,
Not bothering to knock on our doors,
The needles tick away, unhindered by troubled times,
That sweet serenade still drifting,
Through that lazy pace of life,
And the sun will still beam at us,
But neither of us will smile back.

We keep that tottering pace,
Throughout an entire lifetime,
All trials and joys lay buried deep in our forgotten thoughts,
Time goes on this way in this short life,
For we stumble and rise again and again,
When the time comes,
We gather, listen and stay very still,
For that sweet serenade has whistled its final tune.

In dead silence,
We stand, huddled close,
For regrets begin to wash over those who did not hear,
The lucky ones, however,
Who stopped to listen to that sweet sound,
Felt the waves beneath their feet and
that sweet serenade beckoning them.

Very nice! I feel that there a song/melody that each of us hears in life. Our story will be crafted from the decision we make: to follow or not to follow that serenade.
