That Moment Poem by Elia Michael

That Moment

That moment when you look into the eyes
Of someone whom you love with all your heart;
That moment when you look and realize
That in that gaze there is no guile nor art.
That instant when all else begins to fade
Into the distance; time too will distort
And love is so breathtakingly arrayed
Like ancient gods have given their support.
That moment when you look into a soul
And see another who is part of you
An integrated part which makes you whole
When one and one are one; no longer two.
That moment is so beautifully rare
Yet vital to my life as breathing air.
