That Damn Phone Poem by Frani Bell

That Damn Phone

Rating: 5.0

That damn phone rings
Night and day
If only your voice
Was on the other end to say
'Hey lovely, how was your day? '
'Hey gorgeous how have you been? '

But that damn phone only brings
Names of unknown callers everyday
And that damn phone never reads
Your name across its screen

Memories take me back
To what used to be on that phone
Your name and number everyday
You smiled and laughed in everyway
And if i hung up wrong, or didn't say bye
That damn phone would ring
With your voice on the other end

But that damn phone only brings
Names of unknown callers everyday
And that damn phone never reads
Your name across its screen

To give up would be a blessing
But i'm not sure i could handle it
I'm still hoping
And praying that...

That damn phone won't only bring
Names of unknown callers everyday
And that that damn phone would read
Your name across its screen

But until that day...

That damn phone only brings
Names of unknown callers everyday
And that damn phone never reads
Your name across its screen
