That Common Misconception Poem by Lexy Sogl

That Common Misconception

Rating: 4.0

Beauty
A common misconception

They say
She’s stunning
That she’s everything
A woman should be

I hate the way she walks
The way she pretends she’s content

The way she smiles at these people
Trying to convince them
Trying to convince herself

The way she’s expected
To be nothing
But a petty woman
Is reasonable

What she doesn’t realize
Is I know her
Inside and out

I know her fears
I know her dreams
I know her faults
I know her strengths

She is everything
I despise

She is fear
That walks
That breaths
That discourages

She is
Me
