That Child In Me Poem by Shirley Sorensen Hinz

That Child In Me

Many time I wish
I could be younger for a while,
No cares or responsibility
Just that carefree child and smile. With wishes and dreams
And plans and hopes,
Yet many times it seems-
The older I get, the harder to cope! I've grown from child to adult-
I wonder what will be,
I cannot stop or halt
Time - it moves endlessly. So finally I must accept
That which I cannot change,
For with age and yet, I still love
That child in me.
