Thankshopgiving Poem by Ima Ryma

Thankshopgiving

The first Thanksgiving, it is said
The Pilgrims had harvest subdued.
They wanted a feast, so instead,
Native Americans brought food,
Giving people who had not yet
Come up with stuff like shop and buy.
If so, it's prob'ly a good bet
The Pilgrims would have not been shy
About going to Wig Wam mall
To buy on credit latest tech,
Like drums to beat to make the call -
Reduced price now - oh what the heck!

Once started, it will never stop,
Thanksgiving is a day to shop.
