Thanksgiving After All Poem by Leaking Pen

The stage is set: Props are in place
Lead actors roles well rehearsed
Execution flawless with grace
Love means giving and to be nursed.

Temptations are welcoming stations
With baskets gifts and happy wishes
And painted festive notations
On special Royal Doulton dishes.

Dieting rescued from the gym
From orphaned appetite with flair
The plenty harvest festive hymn
All lips partake in this shared prayer.

It is Thanksgiving after all
Autumn's ripened harvest songs
Pumpkin nutmeg pie my fall
Where my sweet tooth belongs.

Eyes feasting with perfumed noses
Tender turkey slices and side dishes galore
And our hearts become lovely as roses
When love is in the air and a dash more!

This one time of the year, all cheers!
Families lay aside any bad vibes
And gluttony tears are happy tears
Oneness in spirit inside and outside.

Guards are down but civility rules the crowd
From all corners this once a year gathering
Curtain falls, actors on stage finally bowed
I hope xmass will repeat the same offering!
