Terifficallly Tall Tony Poem by James Asher

Terifficallly Tall Tony

Terrifically tall Tony stood with his head in a cloud.
So whenever people wanted a chat or a natter
They have to scream and shout, oh so very loud.

They’d stand on tiptoes,

They’d stand on chairs,

They’d even climb a ladder,

They tried all these different things but nothing seemed to matter.
For Tony was a Giant, the last remaining, one and only
And what people realised was; he was oh so very lonely!

No matter how hard they tried, Tony could never hear them;
So they hired a plane to fly in the sky, just so Tony could see them.
They’d land the plane on the end of his nose, and walk on round to his ear
So all of this they would do, so Tony could get to hear.
And now a plane flies twice a day, from the airport to his nose
People queue from day to day, standing all in rows
But now there’s a problem which has arose
Terrifically tall Tony has a very sore nose!
