Tepid Poem by shami giles

Tepid

As I sat quietly peering up at the stars that filled the blackened sky

I reflected on a friendship that passed by

A friendship that was full of devotion, laughter, happiness, growth and trust

I ask in tepidation what happened to us?

Things have changed but we can only see

I still remember the first day that we met

Your friendship was something I wanted to get

Now I find myself saddened and trying to forget

that courtney i knew with eyes that twinkled like the stars

that friends that I had with no holds barred

that friendship that was as thick as the festering black night

Now I continue to fight

to welcome this new courtney

Tepid, unsure, with no eyes to see

No twinkle everytime we meet

No shoulder to cry on amongst defeat

You'll fall in love again one day

Then once again those friendships will go away

The old courtney will fall away
