Ten Feet Under Poem by Genevieve Pilat

Ten Feet Under

With all that's said and done in life
No matter how hard I try
I can't find happiness when I'm near you
I find I always cry.

Your words they weigh me down
I feel I'm ten feet under
I try to lift my spirits up
But your words hit me like thunder.

I want to have those pleasures
Feel pride within my skin
And get the chance to reach the skies
Be truly happy within.

But here I am buried deep down
From your harsh and spiteful ways
It's interesting how unlike positive things
Negativity forever stays.

Ten feet under I wish to escape
Find the happiness meant for me
But I look at reflections and find misery
Because it's you who I really see.
