Temptation Poem by Amy Dawn McCollum

Temptation

while walking down a long and winding road
on a bright and sunny day
a pond glistens
reflecting the sky
the temptation was to jump right on in bare toes and all
as she removed her shoes she thought of all the things
needing to be done from back the way she had come
with a wise and wistful smile born of many roads traveled
she turned quickly and ran...
she ran all the way home
finished her chores, rode the horse to the pond, dove in, swam like a fish, jumped up refreshed and eat cherries from the tree under which she lay...
