Temporary Things Poem by Graham Fowell

Temporary Things

I'm gainfully employed
Making temporary things,
Which are useful for a while
And sought by pawns and kings.

The Temporary Structure
Is meticulously planned,
So it won't outlive the purpose
It fulfilled you understand.

So - we perpetuate the cycle
In pursuit of income stream,
Being temporary components
In a temporary machine.
