Tell Me Poem by Tom Allport

Tell Me

Rating: 3.9

Tell me Teacher
Have you been to war
Do you know the score
Have you fought a fight
Believed you were right
Tell me Pastor
Have you been to war
Have you seen it before
With the muck and the blood
And the stink of fate
Tell me Preacher
Have you been to war
Have you heard the noise
The deafening noise
Of man's killer toys
Please tell me Father
Have you been to war
For family and friends
For country and honour
For something called tomorrow
Please tell me
... Before I go.

ohh Tom, what a masterpiece. Love the flow. Do they send those young men and women to war without fully comprehending what happens on the battlefield? Will rate this one at 10+++. Be blessed in your writing.
