Telephone Unreality Poem by Nita Strauss

Telephone Unreality

Rating: 5.0

Daylight follows firelight
reality follows dreams
dreams become cloudy
mixed with reality
which is really me?

Maybe on the telephone
joined by wires instead of touch
I find escape

Telephone connections
neural connections
where's the difference?
all stays inside my head
my body far removed
from all unreality

When neural connections
lose cable connections
and the nerve ends feel
the touch of soft warm flesh
there's more than static
there's crazy reality

Feel the reality
touch the dream

But dreams are dreams
and reality is here
I feel, I touch
only in my dreams

I live my reality
