Tefl Days! ! ! Poem by Shahzia Batool

Tefl Days! ! !

Rating: 4.2

The CLOSED campus of the OPEN University!
And the steel-grey pigeons on the window-sills!
Those ironical Sundays-
OFF for the Other blessed beings,
AC-frames, so cool to watch,
Walk-through Gate but a simple frame
Basement -the gloomy cave of spleen
Stepping downstairs
Might make you forget
Aeneid's journey to the centre of the Earth
Every room had two wall-clocks,
One always tells time of Yore
The only thing you won't forget
which adorns its natural features
My lovely friends n brilliant teachers! ! !

I voted for this poem in morning but was thinking about TEFL, i think it is abbreviation. The days of TEFL has been beautifully narrated. the last sentence is universal. you can not forget the frnds during your school days. similarly, i can never forget my frnds and office colleagues.. A realistic poem with nice positive thoughts. I wish you all EID MUBARAK.

Very descriptive. Places one at an advantage to experience the backdropp of a thoughtful and well composed tribute, as it dedicated to two worthy honorees.

Learning English as a foreign language and having brilliant teachers, friends and above all the natural scenic beauty around----all are lucrative!
