Teary Uncertainty Poem by Brian Sonberg

Teary Uncertainty

Rating: 0.5

Eyes surprise,
And pull at vanished strings.
Left, broken down to rot.

Your time here has expired,
No room for memory remains.

And yet,
Your eyes contain puzzles,
I feel I need to complete.

And deeper still,
Behind guarded iris,
There lays uncertainty;

Questions for a past likeness,
One with softer hands and
That always-come-easy smile
That you took away from me.
