Tears Of A Poem

The curtains drawn
Last visitor gone
I'm alone with my art
Holding a feeble heart

People used to idolize me
My youth, my charms my wealth
Picture of perfection in motion
God's once shiny locomotion

No one really knows the inside of me
But the sheen outside of my skin
Attraction blinded by the lid
While my soul dwells in the skid

I am worn, an old dying volcano
Empty of life's lava and energy
Yet still what family see in me
The potential of they want to be

My forest green stripped to the core
The land barren and distressed
All eyes caused me to shed
The last crust from my bread

I know love and everlasting peace
I gave and agree till all agree
How does my soul lift every weight?
Driving the engines of all freight

And who witness my own burden
When I shed my veil late at night
I am alone in my journey
All chatter seals my tourney

Do not cry for me for I need
Not your sympathy or empathy
Open your eyes to human's misery
Step out of your own tyranny

Tears of this poem dry
From so much hurt and cry
The promise of hope to be sold
By the voice of death to be told

I just find this so beautifully penned, dear Leaking Pen. How you are able to write 9 verses on the unified theme on tears of a poet. I just love the images revealed in its verse, each one contributing to the wholistic thought. (Report) Reply

When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock
And you hear the kyouck and gobble of the struttin' turkey cock
And the clackin' of the guineys, and the cluckin' of the hens
