Click here to listen to "Teacher" Why? she said, and made me ask
The question that she did not grasp
I struggled, pondering answers deep
Long after she was fast asleep
Why not? she asked, and made me doubt
Just what my life was all about
The trust and frankness in her eyes
Would not permit a compromise
I knew she looked to me as guide
To navigate uncertain tide
So I looked deep into my mind
To see what wisdom I could find
Eternal truths I could impart
To feed her growing mind and heart
But, alas, I am not as wise
As her fledgling mind would surmise
But I believe I’ve found the key:
I learn from her as she from me.
