Tea Poem by Caroline Guedes

Tea

Tonight I'm mellow
feeling like a chai latte
sipping under a willow tree
Tonight I'm alone

Tonight I'm curious
asking myself questions
like 'where did he go? '
'won't someone call my phone? '

Tonight I'm surrounded
by ghosts and angels
drinking my past in without
a filtered straw

Tonight I'm settled
going to resolve this condition
let the future occur unscorned
I'm going to leave it to God

Tonight I'm practical
feeling like green tea
and I pour my soul
all over poor old me

Tonight I'm scented
spiced by my laughter
and dried up tears I will
gladly swim in this sea

Tonight I'm confident
with my english breakfast tea
going to roam the land with
my name on it-won't be afraid

Tonight I'm enlightened
by the traffic on the road
will be deep within myself,
will love the life I have made
