Taxi Ride Poem by John Champion

Taxi Ride

The taxi carries me through the sun drowned streets
Between the towers of concrete and glass and metal
I barely notice the noise of the engine and the traffic
Dust and fumes hang languidly above the tarmac
My body leans against the door
My head lolls on one side
My eyes reflect the world passing outside
There is no expression on my face
There is an emptiness inside my heart

Hi John. I like the flow of this. But I don't think it says anything really original or compelling. It's just 'My head does this, my body does that, ' and it doesn't lead to anything. The final line, which seems unrelated to the rest of the poem, gets me curious but then the poem ends. Sorry.
