Tavileh Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Tavileh

Tavileh

Afghanis were detained, behind bars alien.

Kept inside for some-time, then gathered
Each received some Pitas, a chicken
On a dhow and seen off, of the next unaware.

Captain was well-paid and received pat on back
“Done good work, ” his name was registered.
He knew what it meant to have worked with police
Did not care for homeland’s government, betrayed her.

Kooh Namak is a hill on Island, known as Qeshm.
It is salt, as name says.

Poor Afghans without court or justice, (hard to get)
Deprived of all their rights, abandoned in nowhere.

“No man’s land” of current rings the bell of those days.
