Tarantula Poem by Rick Elpers

Tarantula

Rating: 5.0

During the meandering thoughts
Still aware of the scene round me
Crawled this wonder of creation
Headed straight for my path
Each step carefully chosen
Racing to the next meal
Basking sunshine on such a day
Stopping briefly to encounter
Humanity towering above
Yet fearfully curious
I watched legs raised to me
Fangs displayed standing
At my benefit to wander away
Continuing our morning
Thoughts and the woods
