Take It Poem by Tina Cartwright

Take It

Take this moment
for I shall no longer need it
take this finger
this slough of skin
this air that folds over us
take the night´s embrace
the gravelly mists
the sooty breath passing
from you to me

Take that look that fades
on forever
the heart in its final bound
the taste of spit on the tongue
the warmth inside my mouth
my clothing
my hair
my words moulding meaning
my atoms oscillating
take my sight
this very night

I need none of it
Not a moment
to remember
