Take Ii Poem by Morgan Michaels

Take Ii

poplar sprigs and sunk in a hogshead of wine
addressed his bummed-out friends:
'Never mind, never mind, never mind,
Fate will show itself a better elder.'
Fate will levy us and carry the day,
I am Teucer. I command you. Fear nothing'.
So much the god has foretold: a time will come
when people ask 'Which Salamis'?
Having seen worse in my camp, lads,
drown your cares and make your hearts light with wine.
Tomorrow to sea, the wide, abounding sea'.
