Syria - Aleppo, Syria,8 October 2012

Rating: 5.0

Supplies infuse the wound
Along Turkey's border
Rebels 'n' guns in civilian utilities
Against snipers, jets and tanks
And intransigent viscous bile's
Indiscriminate slaughter;
base currency.
Infection spreads to Saladin,
Terminal country writhes
Maggoted carcasses clog arteries,
Civilian life eradication seeps,
Fragments and cleanses,
Burial mounds bud in public parks
Some hold on in homes in fear
Or frenzied traumatised defiance.
Streets congeal fractured silence,
As battered buildings realise
The war torn cliches of hate filled
tribal and sectarian primitives,
As atrocities escalate dark descent
Plots steal and betray unnamed leaders,
peace miscarries.
Savagery beckons permanent instability
Heirs clamour for inheritance
of treacherous ruin
Seeing peace as weak, the
compassionate as prey,
Deficient of progressive will,
Cursed with lust for power and vengeance,
forever to walk in a sterile garden of
A brothers blood and his home as rubble.
