Syria Poem by Danladi Tauhid

Syria

Darkness
Heartless
Dumb

Raging hate like wild fire
Is consuming Syria
Children are dying
And so are adults
Because Assad must be removed
To pave way for who knows what

Darkness has enveloped Syria
Happiness took a back-flight
The people swarm in flight
Across the world
In search of peace
That now eludes their land

Heartless pests burrow into Syria
In the name of jihad
And turned the land into grave yards
For the hapless and helpless
Who have no business with war

Every one of them
Want a piece of Syria
And for this frenzied mindlessness
Syria must go up in flames
Al Sauds have a cake to bake there
Israel has a cake to bake there
Euro-psyched Turks have a cake to bake there
Zionist America have weapons to test there
European Jews are fighting the Jewish cause
Boys who have no jobs to do are supplied with weapons
To fight the Saudi cause
To fight the Israeli cause
To fight the Euro-Turkish cause
To fight the Ziomerica cause
To fight anti-Iranian cause
To push Assad over the Syrian fence
Into the waiting hands of Netanyahu
Into the waiting hands of Al Sauds
So that this 'Shia nonsense' might stop

For this Syria must continue to burn
And when hot heads throw a missile
And use killer gas
And shoot rocket propelled grenades
They mumble, 'Allaahu Akbar'
When Allah did not give them the weapons
To kill
To burn
To liquidate Syrians
To commit crimes against their own
Because Assad must be removed by force
Syria must go up in flames

Syria! Oh Syria!
Heartless folks override Syria
And the numbed hands of mothers
And fathers dumb with fear
Think of nothing but escape
From a land wasted with hate and strife

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Syrians are going through very harsh times. Like Iraq, it is a victim of the rivalry mainly between Iran and Saudi Arabia, one being predominantly Shia and the other Sunni. It is a tragic rivalry that all Muslims must condemn.
